Day of the Nines

Day Of The Nines is a monthly day of community service in our organization. It’s a monthly reminder and call to action for our members, our organizers, leadership, staff, and anyone who supports BMB to observe a day of SERVICE. STUDY. FASTING.

How to Observe Day of the Nines:
1. Fasting from sun up to sun down
2. Wearing all black or BMB merch
3. Engaging in some type of community service or personal study

This is an intentional day of national solidarity, community, and service every month. To tap in with local service and volunteer opportunities in your area, fill out the form below.

Why is it called Day of the Nines?
The number 9 is very important to Black Men Build. It symbolizes completion (in numerology), as it’s the last of the single-digit numbers and the highest in value. It symbolically represents a culmination of wisdom and experience and buzzes with the energy of both endings and new beginnings. It is also the number of bars in the Black Men Build logo.
