We are Black Men organizing each other to serve our communities, to be students of history, to be critical thinkers, truth-tellers, and teachers in the present, and to develop the social, economic, political, and spiritual tools necessary to evolve and secure a Black Future.
Aligning with our values is a critical step before joining Black Men Build.
- We are critical thinkers.
- We are curious about this moment.
- We are coming together to take an active, responsible role in freeing our communities.
- We are transforming to meet the moment.
- We are bonded with Black Women and all Black people in the fight for true freedom.
*Black people who choose to fight for the enemy, or use our struggle for personal and financial benefit need not apply.

Why do we have a Membership Program?
Black Men Build believes that building and attaining power is the only way that Black people will ever be able to shape our collective destiny. We must do the hard work of bringing our people together to get organized towards our goals. Developing a strong and active membership is at the core of Black Men Build’s power-building strategy.
We are building the kind of membership organization that our communities need: one that is committed and rigorous.
To become a National Member of Black Men Build, one must pay dues of $9/month, attend membership orientation, sign our values pledge, and participate in three mass calls.
To become a Member on the local level, one must also participate in our Political Education program and complete 9 hours of service to the People.
Begin your Membership process today by completing the form to your right. Once completed, our organizers will reach out and facilitate next steps.
Let’s build.

OUR FUNDRAISING GOALS:
This year, Black Men Build has a $3M overall fundraising goal, with a focus on raising at least $40,000 from individual contributors like YOU.
These funds will support our efforts to:
- To employ more sisters and brothers to do the hard work of building an organization through our National and Field Teams.
- To open more Hubs around the country.
- To increase the distribution of our publication, WARTIME, in cities and prisons across the country.
- To expand our online communications activities, so that we can reach, teach, and recruit more people to our cause.
HISTORY ISN’T MADE, IT’S BUILT.
Help us build for the future. No donation is too small. Small giving makes a BIG difference! Make a one-time gift or become a monthly Sustainer today. Your contribution will go to the State Democracy Project, a 501(c)(3) public charity, which serves as the fiscal sponsor of Black Men Build’s charitable mission.
