The International Labor Movement with Mariah Parker & Roger McKenzie

By Black Men Build October 27, 2025

In our recent Mass Call we were joined by Mariah Parker, a Southern-based member of the Union of Southern Service Workers, and Roger McKenzie, a longtime writer on labor organizing from the UK.

Both bring deep experience in the labor movement and powerful perspectives on what it takes to win. We discussed about the moments that pulled them into this work, what organizing looks like day-to-day, and how local struggles connect across borders.

From the long history of anti-union pushback to real-world examples of international solidarity that have made a difference, this conversation explored the realities and possibilities of building working-class power across geographies.

What’s next for the labor movement?

How do we stay rooted locally while building global strength?

And what role do Black radical organizers play in shaping the future?
