WARTIME Issue 3 is our most ambitious project to date. This issue marks the transition from WARTIME as a small publication to a full fledged magazine.

WARTIME serves a visual representation of Black life in 2021. It is a cultural and political relic that depicts Black life through the pandemic.  We talk love, war, guns, the pandemic, elections, colorism, Black Power and so much more.

The words in this edition are the thoughts, feelings, and musings of brothers and sisters in the midst of transitions and transformations.  We’re teaching each other, questioning each other, pushing each other, and loving each other.  Most importantly, we’re indicting this nation. We didn’t start this war, but we’re in it.

We collaborated with Black artists, writers, and photographers and a chorus of other brilliant and creative friends and comrades to bring this issue to life.  It’s honest, it’s raw, and guaranteed as you flip these pages – you’re going to feel something.

This issue will be released both digital and print.  Stay tuned as we will be regularly communicating on our social channels to let you know how you can get your hands on a physical copy (limited to 20,000) – but in the meantime, please enjoy the digital viewing experience below.

SUPPORT BLACK MEN BUILD TO FUND FUTURE ISSUES OF WARTIME

WARTIME, both print and digital, is completely FREE to the public.

Accessibility is a core component of our organization. The more copies of WARTIME we can get into the hands of Black people, the better.

This is more than a magazine. It is an organizing engine, a political tool, an art piece, a textbook, a means to grow the teaching and reaching ability of our organization. We would love your support of our work by donating to our organization.

Six months of writing, designing, ideation, creative planning, printing, and strategizing went into this issue. Over the next few months we will be distributing physical copies for FREE in 15+ cities around the country.  We want to continue to push the envelope and create future issues to reach more and more Black people. Your support will ensure that we can continue to create and deliver WARTIME to Black households across the country.
